Carmen Lanio DeVries, D.D.S.
Born and raised in the D.C. metro area, Dr. DeVries completed her undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University where she double majored in biomedical engineering and electrical engineering. She worked for several years as an electrical engineer before returning to dental school. Dr. DeVries has been practicing dentistry in the area for over a decade. She purchased the practice in 2015 after working in the community for two years. Dr. DeVries is committed to providing quality dentistry to senior citizens in a caring and comfortable environment. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and two daughters and is very active as a Girl Scout leader. She enjoys baking, sewing, reading, running, and yoga.
Jose Lanio, DDS
The newest addition to our practice, Dr. Lanio is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 30 years of experience. He received his dental degree from Howard University before completing his surgical training at Washington Hospital Center. Always caring and compassionate, his skill and expertise allows him to provide excellent care, putting even the most nervous patient at ease. When he is not in the office, Dr. Lanio enjoys spending time with his large family - he has a wife of almost 40 years, 3 daughters, and 7 grandchildren who all love spending time with him
Varetta Hamlin, RDH
A hygienist for over 30 years, Varetta is originally from Washington, D.C. She spent many years in Pittsburgh working as a pediatric hygienist before moving back to this area. She has been with our practice for over 5 years. As a District native, she treats all her patients with the familiarity of a neighbor. She’s passionate about bringing considered, quality care to local seniors. She loves spending time with her 3 grandchildren and is an avid gardener.
Pina Maddalena , Office Manager
With our practice for almost 20 years, Pina is known throughout the community for her friendly and helpful style. She prides herself on developing a personal relationship with all of our patients. Pina was born in Washington, D.C. and has lived in Montgomery County her entire life. She is very close to her family and enjoys being an aunt to her 5 nieces and nephews.
Zelmira Barrios, Dental Assistant
Originally from Bolivia, Zelmira has been with our dental practice for over 10 years. She enjoys making all of our patients feel comfortable and well cared for. With a gentle demeanor and kind words, Zelmira’s main concern is to make sure the patient has a stress-free dental visit. When not with our practice, she is busy spending time with her husband and two children.
